Shrine of Tranquility
The Shrine of Tranquility, built of the finest stand stone, and covered with limestone and marble it is tall and inspiring. It is said that as it was built that it was constructed with light and music. A place meant to be of solace, where one can find fortitude.
Perpetual light and music were said to emanate from the central altar. This is where those who suffered could find peace with themselves.
Soldiers would come to the shrine and often wallow in self pity. Crying over the choices that they had made. Sobbing about how the world had changed and that the current world is not what they had fought and died for. Sometimes they would even wish that they had fought for the other side and that their enemies had been right. They would shed tears but then reach a point of calm as the light and music washed over them.
Bereaved parents and children would come to the shrine and be able to say their last goodbye. The music and light was believed to somehow take their prayers and words to their lost loved ones.
The shrine was lost in the upheaval of the empire's fall. It's light becoming shadow, it's music discordant. Off key and out of tune. The comfort once given transmuted to fear.
The shrine is now being cared for and restored by the monks that uncovered it. The monks are doing their best to bring back the proper light and retune the music and setting it in key. Structurally the shrine is sound, yet many years will be spent on the restoration of the decor.
It will be a joy when once again pilgrims and those suffering can journey to the shrine and have their spirits lifted though light and music.
