Amsvartnir
Amsvartnir is a dark lake in Asgard.
Geography
Amsvartnir lies in the far east of Asgard. The water from this lake runs down through the river of Sokkvabekkr into the Sea of Fen. Within the lake stands an island called Lyngvi, where the monstrous wolf Fenrir Lokison is trapped.
Amsvartnir's water is known for being entirely black. Nobody knows the science of this, even the wisest scholars of Asgard.
Fauna & Flora
There is a race of Merfolk called the Marmennill living beneath the surface of Amsvartnir. Due to the darkness of the lake, the Marmennill are blind, but have developed a sort of sixth sense, which allows them to see the future.
There are also other fish.
Natural Resources
There are several species of fish living in the lake, which the Aesir catch as food.
