You push open the doors to your tavern and walk inside. The staff smile and greet you, but you're interested in the half-drow sitting by herself - your girlfriend, Nathxena Fey. You give her a kiss as you sit down opposite her.

"So," you begin, smiling at her. "What was so urgent?"

She returns the smile. "Remember that kingpin down in Baldur's Gate who's causing so much trouble?"

You think for a few moments, trying to recall. You know a lot of criminals, especially down in The Gate. "Yeah, Bahmur Zeihro, right? He was involved in slaves, wasn't he?" Even The Guild wanted this man dead.

Nathxena nods. "Terrible, awful guy." She leans in towards you. "We found out he's hosting a party in a few days from now. His guard will be down, and his guards drunk. I know you don't like hits, but..."

You were a thief, not an assassin. Despite that, you're fairly proficient at killing, from years of adventuring - and this Zeihro really deserves it.

You nod once, then speak gravely. "I'll do it."

Your girlfriend puts her hand to your cheek. "I know this is a lot to ask but... I know you can do it."

As she looks at you, you decide how to infiltrate the man's estate...

You smirk at Nathxena. She looks up from the table at you, realising your expression.

"That old trick, huh?" She says, half-smiling.

You flick your long, auburn hair in reply, still smirking. "It works every time."

"Except when it doesn't, and someone has to rescue you." Nathxena adds.

"Come on, that was... okay it was a few times!" you exclaim. "But this time's different."

Realising she can't convince you otherwise, Nathxena sighs, and continues. "We found a guy in Baldur's Gate who's looking for entertainment for the party. Use your way with, uh, words, with him."

You smirk once more. You already know exactly what you're going to do. Bahmur Zeihro might be a disgusting, lecherous man, but that means he can't possibly resist you.
Thanks to your wizardly connections, you arrive in your hometown within minutes via teleport. You stroll through the streets of the Lower City, heading for the Low Lantern. It's evening, just like it was back in Waterdeep, but warmer in this city.

As you open the door to the Low Lantern, you're assaulted by a variety of smells from a mostly unclean tavern and festhall - but you're used to it. You wander inside, eyes looking your body up and down - another thing you're used to.

As you take a seat, you notice that one of the men watching you intently is the one Nathxena's description matches. You simply sit back, kick your feet up, and let everyone study you.

The man is the third person to approach you, and the first one you don't reject. You motion for him to take a seat in front of you, and kick your legs off the table.

He speaks first. "I couldn't help but notice you come in."

"Yeah, you and just about everyone else in here." you reply.

His eyes slowly move across your body, studying you. "Now, I'm looking for some... entertainment for my boss. You wouldn't happen to have any skills to go along with that body of yours, would you?"

"My dancing can hypnotise anyone." (Page 4)

"The Low Lantern's known for courtesans, isn't it?" (Page 5)

"It's better nobody sees me." You say.

Nathxena almost seems to sigh with relief. "Alright. Get everything you need to kill this guy and let's get you down to Baldur's Gate."
You stroll through the streets of your hometown, taking in the warm summer night air. Despite the darkness, your fey magic lets you see perfectly. Taking a seat on the bench, you think about what the best way to plan your approach is.

Getting an in-person look is best. It's not far. (Page 6)

Maybe you can take a look at the plans, if they exist. (Page 7)

"Can it now?" he says, raising an eyebrow.

You nod, smiling at him.

"I've got a room downstairs. Show me."

He motions for you to get up. You do so, following him into the hold of the Low Lantern. He opens a door, letting you in first. When you're both in, he closes and locks the door.

"Do you have anything for me to wear?" you ask, looking around the dreary room.

In reply, he throws you a very revealing red outfit. You ask him to turn around as you get changed, but he doesn't, so you just get changed in front of him.

He sits down as you begin your dance. You sensually move your body, letting his eyes follow your every move.
As you finish, he blinks a few times. "Huh, wow, you weren't kidding about the hypnotic dance."

You smile, brushing some hair from your face.

"Consider yourself hired. Pay is five gold pieces, and be there in three nights."

Once you're dressed, he opens the door for you. You wink at him as the tavern's eyes fall upon you once more.

His eyes light before you even finish your sentence.

You lean forward. "Care for a demonstration?"

"I, uh..." he stammers. "I have a room here belowdecks."

"Perfect" you whisper, moving your hand up his arm.
You don't know how long it's been, but you look at the creaking and swaying ceiling. The man is next to you in the bed, breathing heavily. Not the worst person you've slept with, but definitely not the best either.

You shift over in the bed to look at him. "So... how was the interview?"

"That was..."

"I take it I'm hired?"

"Yeah, ten gold for the night, you sleep with everyone who asks, when they ask." he says, still breathing out loud.

You nod and get up to leave, but you feel his hand grab your forearm. Rolling your eyes in resignation, you get back into the bed for now.

Hiring a horse, you gallop out of Baldur's Gate for an hour to see a manor not far from some cliffs, overlooking the sea. For most, the dark night would require them to use a lantern to see, but you aren't most. Between your fey magic and natural elven sight, you can see perfectly for a long distance.

You stealthily prowl your way towards the manor, avoiding some yawning guards along the way. Peeking over the wall, you can see some guards with lanterns patrolling the grounds. More importantly, you can see your mark smoking a pipe through a window on the top floor. He's larger than you expected.

On the ground floor, you also see a back door - probably for servants. You hop down from your perch on the fence, and slink your way back to your horse.

As you swing your leg to the other side of you saddle, you spot something by the road. Riding your horse over, you see a well-camouflaged wooden door in the ground. An escape tunnel! This must lead right into the manor. You mentally note that, then head back to Baldur's Gate.
A few days later, you're back at the road just in front of the manor. Given the information you have, there's three ways of getting into the manor.

That tunnel leads directly into the manor. (Page 12)

The back door is the simplest plan with the fewest moving parts. (Page 13)

The seller thinks you can't - or won't - afford the plans, but you can, and you do. Finding a private booth in the Undercellar, you closely examine the plans. The manor is located near a cliff in a large estate, surrounded by countryside. Presumably, his guards keep it clear of monsters.

Studying the plans, a few things jump out at you. The master bedroom is on the upper floor, and has a window that leads directly to it - your target is probably in there. Of course, that window might be locked. There's also a rear door that's probably for servants to come in and out of without disturbing people.

As you look over one final time, something jumps out at you. There appears to be a very small sea cave that runs directly into a basement room. You're an experienced diver, and you can hold your breath for over four minutes, so the distance isn't the problem. The cave seems like you could just squeeze through it if you exhaled, but you're worried that the exit is sealed up. If it is, you're dead.

You look up to see a group of men walking over to you, presumably to flirt or proposition you. You sigh, then put the plans into your bag of holding.
You creep up to the edge of the estate. Your eyes dart back and forth between the manor and the sea and you think. What's the best way to sneak inside?

That sea cave leads directly into the manor. (Page 8)

You walk towards the beach, recalling in your mind the position of the sea cave. With the waves lapping at your feet, you undress. Clad in only your underclothes and a dagger strapped to your thigh, you dive into the cold and dark water.

It takes you a few minutes, but you spot the cave entrance close to shore. You surface for one final breath before swimming into the cave.

Just as you predicted, the cave is very tight. You strain as you pull yourself through the narrow space, as all the while your lungs burn.

A thought strikes you. This is probably a really, really bad idea. It's not too late to turn back. As you look ahead, a narrow second of the cave would force you to exhale. If you did, you couldn't leave the way you came in.

Leave and try the back door at the manor. (Page 13)

You thank the carriage driver as he lets you off, just outside the manor. As you enter, you're given a few moments to change as the guards take your belongings. Unfortunately, this outfit is too revealing to hide any weapons in.

"Ah, tonight's entertainment" a man says to you. "Follow me, you'll be dancing outside."

Make an excuse to slink away and leave. (Page 10)

"I, uh, need to go" you quickly say.

Before the man can even react, you've started walking in the opposite direction. You aren't looking where you're going and bump into a large man - Bahmur Zeihro himself.

"Going somewhere?" he asks you, looking down at you.

"I was just-" you begin, but are cut off.

"Going for a walk? Before you even started? No, I think I'll keep you around" Zeihro says.

Before you can react, you suddently feel the clamp of a metal collar around your neck. In horror, you realise that Zeihro is holding the chain connected to it.

"Permanently" he continues with a wicked grin.

You thank the carriage driver as he lets you off, just outside the manor. Although revealing, your clothes have just enough space to hide a dagger, so long as nobody pats you down. Given that you have a high chance of spending tonight naked with many people in very close proximity, that's not as helpful as it could be.

You arrive at the party to see a large number of ne'er-do-wells, miscreants, and other types talking outside by the lamplight. Among them are many scantily-clad dancers and courtesans. A guard stops you as you approach the manor.

"I'm the entertainment" you say to him.

He looks you up and down, then grins. "Got some orders from the boss. You gotta take your shirt off for me if you want in."

You don't have time to argue with this. You unbutton your shirt, allowing him to inspect your form.

"Heh, that's a rack I'll remember. I'll be seeing you tonight, sweetheart."

You button up your shirt and continue in. This sort of thing is going to happen all night, but it might be possible to slink away from the party before anyone notices you.

You slide down from your horse, tie her up out of view of the road, and open up the escape tunnel hatch. It seems to be built for someone larger than you, so you have no trouble walking through it.

The tunnel isn't lit, but that isn't a problem for you. As you reach the end, the exit is covered by several crates. You can hear voices on the other side.

Move a box out of the way and crawl through. (Page 20)

Having decided that a simple solution is the best solution, you opt for the back door. You creep up to the manor, taking care to avoid making any noise.

Arriving at the wall, you quickly clamber up and over, landing silently behind some boxes.

"Yeah this sucks" a voice from right next to you almost makes you jump, until you realise that the guard hasn't seen you.

As he turns to walk away, you can see the back door on the other side of some open ground.

Sprint for it! (Page 21)

With the upper window in sight, you sneak up to the manor in silence. You clamber over the wall, hiding from some guards as you land.

When they move away, you have enough time to climb.

You leap up, catching an empty flagpole that supports your light weight. You use it to jump to a windowsil, then throw yourself to the window you're after.

However, when you try to open the window, you notice that it's locked from the inside. Even your lockpick can't get you through this.

You look around, considering your options.

Exhaling much of your remaining air, you just barely manage to squeeze into the next tunnel. You crawl through for agonising seconds, as your lungs keep demanding air. Finally though, you emerge into the open.

And your heart sinks.

The one exit has been closed off with some metal bars. You shake at them, but they refuse to move. You can feel the cool air on your arm as you reach out from your watery prison, but you can't get your mouth to the air.

Your lungs finally relent, and your body goes limp as you breathe in water. You slowly sink to the bottom of the cave, watching the world fade away around you.
Some days later, a servant in the basement spots the body of a half-elf woman in her underclothes at the bottom of the sea cave. It's too difficult to remove, so it stays there, becoming somewhat of a tourist attraction for Zeihro's guests.

You follow the man, joining some other dancers and courtesans as the entertainment. However, it soon becomes clear that all eyes are on you.

A man walks from the crowd towards you, towering before you. It's Bahmur Zeihro.

You get the idea he isn't used to people crossing him.

You'd rather spend as little time here as possible. With ease, you lift a dagger from a guard, hiding it on your person.

The inside of the house is relatively quiet, and you make your way upstairs. While you're able to avoid one guard patrolling, there seems to be another one standing in front of the stairs to the third floor.

As you hide, you have two ideas.

Take him out. (Page 28)

Take him to a bedroom. (Page 29)

There are a lot of people who want to do a lot of things to you. You mentally prepare yourself, smile, and head into the party.
Well past midnight, you pull yourself out from underneath a sleeping man and find your clothes. You're pretty sure you've just slept with half of Baldur's Gate. Maybe not that much, but more people than you can remember. At least a dozen. Probably. You can't think straight.

One advantage of waiting this long is that everyone is exhausted from the party. A disadvantage is that "everyone" includes "you". It's best to avoid physical confrontations for the rest of the night.

Sneak upstairs so you can finally get rid of this guy and leave. (Page 30)

An argument quickly erupts over who gets to sleep with you first, and someone locks the door behind you. There's a lot of them, and they're all larger than you.

Deciding on the least sensible course of action, you clamber up to the roof. You can see the entire estate from here, and the full moon gleaming off of the ocean.

Taking a look at the chimney, you reckon you could probably squeeze down inside it. You take a few breaths, then climb inside, head-first.

It's a very tight fit, and you're covered in soot, but you wiggle your way down. As you approach the bottom, you can hear footsteps just outside the fireplace.

You're worried that someone might light a fire, but those fears are alleviated when you hear them walk away and sit in a chair.

You quietly pull yourself from the chimney, only to see Bahmur Zeihro sitting at a desk with his back to you.

You draw your dagger... (Page 36)

"A private dance wasn't in the agreement. I'm sorry."

Without another word, he storms off, followed by his entourage.
A few hours later, you're given a break from dancing and have the opportunity to wander around the estate.

Another blow strike you over the back of the head, but you stay up. One more goon goes down, but a man tackles you. Two others hold you down as the first one straddles you, wrapping his hands around your neck.

You kick and thrash, but you don't have the strength to remove him from you. The last thing you can see before you fall unconscious is the man grinning down at you.

Looking down, you see that your dancer's clothes have been replaced by some kind of underclothes made of chain mail.

"I know who you are, Sariel Liadon!" Zeihro shouts from above. "When I'm done, there won't be anything left of you to find!"

You hear a chain being pulled, and a gate before you opens. From the darkness, you watch as a huge green gelatinous cube, full of metal bits, slides towards you.

You scramble backwards, but there's nowhere to run.

The cube engulfs you with surprising speed, and you feel the acid eating away at you. Unable to breathe, you suffocate shortly after.
All that remains in the cube a few hours later is a small set of chain mail underclothes.

Nathxena sits down opposite you, and you kick your leg off the table.

"The whole slave operation around Baldur's Gate is in chaos right now" she says. "All thanks to you."

You smile at her. "Please, it was nothing."

She leans in towards you. "You sure?"

"Nat, I've fought dragons before. One admittedly large slaver and his goons aren't a challenge."

"Well, you look exahusted." She motions for a waitress to hand you two some drinks.

You smile at her. "Not too exhausted for a few drinks with you."

You pick up the bow from a table, as well as an arrow.

"Go on girl, it's not hard" Zeihro says.

You take aim with the bow, looking at the target.

He smirks at you, then motions for his guards to leave him.

"Only if you take your clothes off" he says sternly.

You comply, and walk out onto the rocks, where you can easily dive. He follows close behind, closely watching you.

"I usually wear this, but you can have it."

He hands you a ring from his finger.

"It's a ring of waterbreathing so you can freely explore the ocean."

"No thanks, I can hold my breath." (Page 63)

"Thank you!" (Page 64)

"Hmm" he grunts. He then sends his man back outside.

He motions for you to straddle his lap and dance, which you do so.

You spot a knife on a table next to him, as he runs his hands over your body.

Wait for a better moment. (Page 51)

Stab him with the knife. (Page 65)

As he takes your top off, you notice that he's keeping a close eye on the knife. It's better to wait for a while than risk getting yourself killed.

You continue to entertain him, but eventually he gets tired and sits in his bed, watching you.

Your stamina is much better than his, and before long, he's asleep.

You simply walk to the knife, pick it up, and slice his throat, instantly killing him.

Leave through the door. (Page 52)

There's a guard standing outside, waiting to walk in. He pushes past you, opens the door, and sees his boss slumped in the bed.

You finally arrive at Zeihro's room. The door's unlocked, and he's asleep.

You finally finish dressing yourself, and spot a knife on a bedside table.

You might be exhausted, but you also feel like getting some revenge for everything you've had to go through tonight. You want to strangle him like he strangled your pride.

You look at your hands and decide what to do.

Kill him quickly. (Page 72)

Kill him slowly. (Page 73)

You strike one with your dagger, but reel from the pain of the bolt.

You can feel blood in your throat as you collapse to the ground.

Fight your way through the guards. (Page 56)

You silently creep up to your target's bed, keeping your daggers stowed. You can hear the guards just outside.

As you get to the bed, you quickly wrap your legs around his neck in a triangle choke hold. He's surprised, and he starts struggling.

You keep holding him. He flails about, trying to find anything to hit you with.

A few moments later, you're able to snap his neck.

All the while, the guards are talking mere feet from his door.

Unlock the window and climb out. (Page 75)

There's not enough time to unlock the door, especially now that Zeihro is probably awake. Staying any longer is a death sentence.

Without thinking, you dive out the nearest window. Your exposed skin is cut in a dozen places, and you hurt your shoulder as you land three floors below.

Despite that, you manage to climb the outer wall and escape. You look back one more time to see Zeihro watching you as you flee.

Continue. (Page 76)

Only to reveal a large man towering before you.

"Well well," Zeihro says. "Aren't you a pretty little thing?"

You swing a dagger at him, but he catches your arm, holding you aloft.

"I think you'll look much better without so much clothing" he says, giving you an evil grin.

Some guards show up behind you, pointing crossbows and rapiers. There's no escape.

Before you can react, he shoots his own crossbow at you. It hits you right where you hit him.

You fall to the ground, choking and unable to breathe. You see him stand above you.

"Heh. Magic arrow" he says, taunting you as you slowly die.

You can easily hit a bullseye, but decide to keep your cover, and shoot just wide of the target, hitting the no-point zone. The arrow unexpectedly bounces off of the target.

"Magic arrows" Zeihro says. "To make sure they don't hurt anyone.

You continue your archery game for a while, making sure you lose. It's hard, knowing that you could easily beat all of them while blindfolded.

Eventually, the archery contest ends and the men start drinking. You walk up to Zeihro.

"Um, mister Zeihro? Do you want to go for a swim?" (Page 49)

"I'm going to go shoot some deer or something." (Page 78)

"I know who you are, Sariel Liadon," he says, approaching you.

"And she's entirely at my mercy."

Grab the dagger he left dangling on his belt. (Page 79)

All of a sudden, you feel the ring on your finger suddenly weigh a ridiculous amount, and you start sinking.

You try taking it off, but it doesn't budge. Kicking and swimming with all your might does nothing as you eventually hit the seafloor.

Next to you, you can see other corpses stuck to the seafloor, magic rings on their hands.

All you can do is stare up at the surface as your life drains away and the world fades to black.
