Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale is an arctic tundra located in the Frozenfar, and the most northerly permanently inhabited located in Faerûn. Its name (somewhat obviously) comes from the freezing temperatures and howling winds that defined the region. Icewind Dale is almost completely uninhabitable to average humanoids, but a fair number of pioneers and people looking to escape civilisation dwell in the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale. In addition, the Black Raven tribe of Uthgardt nomads calls the region home. Aside from humanoids, the region is populated by a large number of deadly and dangerous creatures like frost giants and white dragons.
