Personal history

Heavy Chain was born in Chult, but she and her family were captured and sold into slavery in Athkatla. She grew up in chains, begging and serving masters to survive. In her early twenties, Heavy Chain stole a key and freed herself, leaving her family behind as she escaped Athkatla. She made her way to Elturel, having heard tales of might and prowess of the paladins there. She was accepted as a paladin of the Red Knight, and trained for three years. Once she felt she was sufficiently prepared to head out into the world she did so, heading to Waterdeep. There, she was hired by a merchant putting together an expedition to Chult.
