Anauroch

The Anauroch is a large, magical desert located in North Faerûn. The desert was created by a powerful spell cast by the phaerimm, creatures that lived under the region over a thousand years ago. Currently, the primary inhabitants of the Anauroch are the Bedine, nomadic humans that travel from oasis to oasis. The only other notable group in the region is the Zhentarim, who control, garrison, and operate the Black Road that passes through the desert.
