Faerun

Faerun was your standard fantasy world. Wizards, Dragons, Adventurers, Gods & Demons. 20 Years ago, an explosion in a farm in the middle of nowhere changed the future of the world, the Progenitor Event. After the dust cleared, the farmer was left with new powers, beyond that seen by any being in the world before. And since then, more powered people, now called meta-creatures, have been appearing, with a range of super powers. Even in a realm of Gods & Wizards, these meta-creatures can stand heads above mere mortals, with near limitless abilities.   Since the Progenitor Event, many organisations & groups have tried work out what happened on that farm. The higher beings of the world, Gods, Demons, Elementals and more, arranged the Council of All, where all agreed it was nothing to do with them. The Waterdeep Wizards Guild has set up a Meta-Creature research department led by Wizard Weeks. There are also rumours of less savory groups investigating them, with reports of newly powered people disappearing.   There are only two saving graces for the common folk of the world, 1) these new meta-creatures are very small in number, and 2) the majority of them are on the side of good. At least, both of these are true for now.
