Yọ̄mer

A loosely connected cluster of clans, mostly found in Wicshire

The Cursed (as they are known by other peoples) were originally citizens of Aloue'un, stigmatised for their magical nature. Sorcerers - that is - those born with innate magic, are not able to hide said magic. As such, they attract the Nīthissaunt to their location. These sorcerers were cast out for the safety of many; often left to fend for themselves but sometimes with a handful of close friends and family who refused to abandon their loved ones. Some would attempt to blend in with other settlements who didn't know they were sorcerers, but most of them travelled west to what would later be known as Wicshire, to create a civilisation of their own.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

Being a society of former outcasts, individual freedoms are valued, but so are the needs of the group. Individuals are allowed almost complete freedom in regards to self-expression, but have are heavily encouraged to look out for their fellows.   Those who do not possess innate magic - be they offspring who simply did not inherit it, or the loved ones of a sorcerer who recently joined the clan - are encouraged to learn magic so to pull their own weight. The clans experience frequent attacks, every member must at least try to contribute to the protection of the clan.

Average technological level

The clans of Wicshire do not prioritise conventional, naturalistic technology. Their society consists of magic users of every kind, as such they rely more on spell casting.

Art & Architecture

Some clans are partial to tattoos

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

As they experience run-ins with Nīthissaunt more than others, these clans of casters consume more meat than most human societies, and lack the taboos associated with meat eating.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The standards of beauty are fairly diverse amongst these people, as sorcerers are known to be physically diverse courtesy of their innate magic. The newly adopted members of the clans have experienced prejudice first hand, and strongly empathise with those who do not fit in.
