They talked more over the next weeks, learning each other's cultures and history. Ellette told Terilan about the Prophets-Rulers of her kingdom, about the shining towers that reached the heavens and the cities they watched over. She described it animatedly, excitedly, though sometimes her face grew sad and she slowed down.
When this happened, Terilan told his own stories to distract her. He described the history of Brimera, and how he came to be an archaeologist. He told her about his expedition to Fort Ail. Sometimes, late at night, when no one was around, he took her out to see the city.
Esten helped them keep the secret. Terilan insisted on it; he didn't want another situation like her family has been caught in.
