Chojnow Cloth
The people of the Kingdom of Chojnow live on the continent of Rusdaysia and are world-renowned for their cloth and weavings. The invention of a three thread weaving machine in the year 14687 was to revolutionize the Chojnow cloth industry and catapulted the industry into a high-demand luxury industry.
A machine was developed which was robust yet compact enough to be widely used within Chojnow, so this system of weaving would spread throughout the country. The machine works by using gears that spin alternately. Each three-arm weaving independently creates an intricate pattern.
The thread itself, used in the machine, is also pre-spun with 3 threads intertwined, so adding strength to the final cloth. The 3 directional weave also makes the threads very tightly packed meaning that anything made from the fabric has a long and durable life.
This invention is only used in Chojnow and has not been exported by royal decree. It is considered a national secret and the technology is highly guarded with the manufacturing and servicing of the machines being held by a special guild. The cloth though is exported directly through the "Kervelen League Trading Union" which has a monopoly on the trade of the cloth through the Rusdaysia region. Their extensive trading network also benefits from the lack of weaving machines outside the country with their monopoly being the only source of the cloth in the region. This also keeps the prices of the cloth elevated and the product is considered a luxury in many markets.
The Chojnow economy's largest export product is the Chojnow Cloth and the textile industry from thread production, weaving, export is the backbone of the country. This is helping to raise the expectation of Chojnow products as one of quality and has made all exports from this country highly sought after.
