Iza

Iza is the dry, red land through the Derevo Arch from Exapolis. Through the arch, the soil is cracked red clay, riddled with trenches and canyons where river systems must have flown years ago. Far from the Arch the sanctity of the Divine weakens, and is subject to the will of unknown animalistic deities.
It is said that some who live in Iza or even Thane near the Derevo Arch have communed with these spirits, and are known to use trinkets, sigils, trances and rituals to commune and manifest their will.

Geography

Most of Iza's land is flat, dry desert. It doesn't take much travel to encounter colossal canyons, but travelers are lucky to find one with a river still running through it.

Fauna & Flora

Plant matter is not very common in Iza as opposed to Thane because of the lack of moisture. Succulents are relatively easy to find, desert trees less so, and forests are nigh unheard of. Those that know where to find them can use the uncommon fruits and herbs in potent medicines and poisons. Despite the lack of flora the animal life is incredibly diverse, creatures of all shapes and sizes can be found in Iza, from the smallest dwarf hydra in the shifting sand deserts, to the colossal behemoth living in ravine caves. Most are non-sapient, but some are, and exploit this unusual trait to deceive travelers.
