Given to the party by the god of madness Flamsilag (Sheogorath) The Maul of Hilarity is a large yellow gavel similar in appearance to the kids gavel toy. The gavel emits a ridiculous squeaking sound whenever it hits something. Despite appearances the maul does piercing damage as inside the squishy gavel head is a thick sharp spike that is the true damage.
On a critical hit, roll 1d8, the maul casts:
Otto's Irresistible Dance Confusion Crown of Madness Dissonant Whispers Tasha's Hideous Laughter Silence Levitate The target acts like you just mocked it with vicious mockery apparently hearing something in its head.
on a roll of 1 the maul casts one of these spells on the wielder. On a role of 2 the maul does no damage to the target and instead summons a random mundane item. The maul also turns any chickens wacked with it into living rubber chickens.
Proficiency with a maul allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
The Maul of Hilarity was immediately eaten by the Goblinfernal, Vaxyll. Meaning that the Maul will be forever gone upon Vaxyll's death.
