The Hylorians

“The ancient Hylorian people are a long-forgotten race that inhabited the world of Arak long before the first men and elves ever stepped foot on the worlds that they now inhabit. Some say that the Hylorians even pre-date the six ancient dragon gods that are worshipped by everyone in Arak. The extraordinarily little information that we have about them suggests that they were the ones that spread the seeds of the original Tree of Life and served as the protectors of The Trees of Life for over a millennium until their mysterious disappearance. Everything that is known about them has come from a single stone tablet that we have been working on translating for the past fifty years. The small amount of information given by this stone tablet is astounding to say the least and could fundamentally change the fabric of our reality and the origins of our existence forever.”

Physical Description:

• Grey Skin
• Glowing draconic markings. Markings vary in color.
• Are an average of 6’5” to 7’5” tall.
• Physique is very toned and muscular.
• Eye color is usually anywhere between a pale violet to a dark purple. Silver and Gold eyes are also featured but extremely rare.
• Each Hylorian is born with a jewel embedded into their foreheads that serves as a “third eye” of sorts.
• Each Hylorian is extremely psionic, their psionic abilities rival Illithids.
• Hylorians lack Empathy or complex emotions. They are almost incapable of showing emotions especially through body language and facial expression. Their emotions instead are projected through the jewels embedded in their heads. This allows them to “feel” emotions.
• Each Hylorian is born with slightly pointed ears. Not as pointed as an elf but in between a half-elf and an elf.
• Hylorians typically live between 3000 to 5000 years. In some rare cases some Hylorians could live 10,000 years!

Attitudes and Philosophies:

• Hylorians prioritize the evolution of Science, Psionics and the Arcane.
• Hylorians are completely devoted to serving The Tree of Life.
• Hylorians main purpose is to spread the acorns dropped by The Tree of Life and to serve and protect The Trees of Life from harm.
• Acorns from The World Trees are only dropped every eight hundred years, Hylorians regard the dropping of the acorns as a significant religious event.
• Hylorians are an extremely advanced civilization, they are the first race to create machines and mechanisms that allow flight, they have medicinal knowledge that makes them immune to every kind of disease and their advancements in agriculture allow them to live anywhere and thrive. They do not however revel in their technological achievements as they are only used to better serve and protect The World Trees.
