Mages of Xithar

A crucial organization stemming from the foremost arcane university on Eulara, Arcanii, responsible for ensuring rifts are hunted down and closed. They are very knowledgeable in lore relating to the Great War, rifts and fiends. They are also well trained in arcane investigative skills, in order to better help them track down demonic activity and the locations of rifts. As part of their training, all Mages of Xithar are taught how to protect themselves from fiends and to close rifts. Due to this, every town and city has one or more mages assigned to them.
Organization members can be recognized by their purple robes with gold trim.

Structure

Members are chosen by the Council of Mages. Each Archmage puts forth names of promising wizards or sorcerers from their own tower and branch of magic.
The number of Mages stationed at each settlement on civilized Eulara is determined by its size and population. Town guards and city militia are taught to protect their mage(s) in the event of a rift at all costs.

Public Agenda

As staunch followers of Xithar, this organization believes that knowledge is our greatest weapon against the threats facing Eulara, especially that of the Unspoken. Members do not lust for power simply for the sake of power, only in the advancement of knowledge for the betterment of Eulara. They are not overly ambitious and rarely do they actively seek promotion. In fact, it is forbidden for a Mage of Xithar to attain the position of Archmage. They are far removed from the politics of daily life at Arcanii and spend most of their time abroad, typically stationed at a particular settlement as advisor and investigator. While their studies never cease, Mages of Xithar stand ready to close a rift in defense of the settlement should the need ever arise.
