[Motivational Music][1]   Set loosely on framework established in the Dungeons and Dragons universe, mixing original content with inspiration from a variety of modules and D&D lore, as well as popular video games such as Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, four adventurers meet and set off on adventure.   The world of Ethra is a vast planet of civilized and uncivilized peoples, of monsters, beasts, and rich in history and untapped magic.   Several millennia ago, magic was once a very common practice, used by almost everyone, but after an ever waxing feud between Ethra’s most powerful magical factions climaxed, wars were waged, and each faction summoned Elemental God-Beings to fight as champions.   Mountains were cleaved apart, glaciers melted and re-froze displacing entire oceans, perpetual storms scorched the land below, and Ethra’s moon, Aurelia, became [mutually tidally-locked][2] after a large part was jettisoned down to earth as a meteor. Ethra remained a maelstrom of death and destruction for decades to follow. The world was scarred past recognition and what remained of society was thrown into a dark age.   Now, with the fallout cleared and Ethra’s ecosystems in a semblance of order, Civilization approaches its former level of affluence. Territories have developed utilizing energies from nearby natural sources, and the elements harnessed for nourishment became worshipped as the New Gods of Ethra. And large corporations and businesses have set up vast mercantile networks to move trade goods and recently rediscovered magic and magic-infused items.     But the adventurers of [Your Party Name Here] begin elsewhere: In a peaceful self-sustaining village secluded from the outside world, you have been charged with learning how to be stewards of the land, to keep it safe to honor your ancestors. And the stories of Ethra are just that. The heroes and their deeds are fanciful tales from generations long ago; mere entertainment now. You will learn to keep the village--and the land it sits on--safe for the next generation…   [1]: https://brentalfloss.bandcamp.com/track/final-fantasy-classic-with-lyrics [2]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charon_(moon)#Orbit
