Al

Written by Barron

Al is a Raven native to Vorshurr who, like her owner, has genetic albinoism. The raven has followed Crow since their first meeting at the site of Synna ☠'s Death. Crow cherishes Al, tending to her and finding comfort in her loyalty. A drop of solidarity in Crow's ever chaotic world.
Al flapped away from Tskhan, landing on the peak of Crows hood and staring at Allarah with a tilt of its white-feathered head. Crow brought his beak up to gaze at the SoFaeo as well, before presenting her with the brooch with caked rocksweat.

Kohliya's egregore was gone, and the corvids had returned to the square. One white-feathered raven perched on the breast of Synna's floating corpse, pecking at a leech latched onto the wound in her collarbone. She was staring upwards - eyes blank.

Crow could feel the tears caking his cheeks as he worked to bring Synna's body back. Silent mourning only hinted by his elongated breaths and the occasional pitiful snivel; even those felt like a gong in these silent ruins.

Once he had Synna clear of the water, he reached into his medical bag and cleaned the wounds as best he can. He did so not out of the hope that perhaps she isn't really dead, but to bring her body back with some decency.

While in his bag, he also pulled out a reward for the corvids keeping him safe, finding the one that perched on him originally. His search was easy - it was the same albino Crow which had stood upon her and pecked at the leech. It accepted the treat, trilled softly, and leaped up onto his shoulder.
I think I shall follow you.
Crow reached up to pat the albino bird upon his shoulder, even if no one at the Trundler would be able to stomach him for a while at least he had someone to fall back on.
