Planetcracker Class Battleship

The planetcracker was designed as a cruiser killer, a massive ship with enough armament to swat an entire fleet. They were roughly seven kilometers long and had to be assembled in orbit in separate sections. With a maximum thrust of 1G it could not escape the surface of a variety of planets, and any approach would have to be done at slow speeds. Any crew transfers would have to be done from a station, orbital elevator, or dropship.   With the massive size of the first planetcrackers came enormous problems. Construction was frequently delayed by inferior or insufficient workers and materials, and intricate engineering problems arose further lowering the speed of production. Of the eight ships first laid down only four were starworthy at the start of the Orion War.   The first ship, the Gigantia nailed the functional design, with weapon, reactor, and defensive placement barely changing between her and her sister ships. However the internals such as the bridge, crew quarters, and storage spaces would drastically change from ship to ship. Crews likewise constantly changed. With such a large vessel the crews were enormous, often on the same scale as a planetary base or small regiment. As such the logistics of the vessel necessitated a fleet of supporting tenders on prolonged voyages.   They were however perfect weapons for destroying orbital forts.   Fourteen Planetcracker Class battleships were made, with twelve surviving the war. The Gigantia is kept in the
