Swamp of Ningama
Despite the prevalence of humans on the southern end of the continent, the Swamp is one of the few areas they haven't managed to fully explore. The Demesne of Ucian has some settlements on the eastern edge, and several of the orcish tribes of the savanna have trading posts on the northern ends. The primary trading partners for these outposts are Yuan-Ti, but the Yuan-Ti carry rumors of draconic beings in the deepest portions of the swamp. Indeed, the Swamp itself is named after Ningama, who is believed to be the deity worshiped by the black dragonborn.
Geography
Immediately off the Hydellian Sea, the entire southern portion of the continent is subject to intense rainfall. The region with the lowest elevation has the worst drainage, and therefore forms the wetland basin of the Swamp of Ningama. Several minor rivers drain into this area, mixing with the sea to form the brackish swamp.

Natural Resources
The obvious resource provided by the swamp is firewood from the trees. There are also substantial animal resources, primarily in the form of fish and crustaceans. The other plants of the swamp provide a number of benefits, including medicines, textile fibers, and dyes.
Survival
The most difficult part of surviving in the swamp is finding clean drinking water. All of the water in Ningama is either brackish or acidic, sometimes both. With no dry wood to make fires, and no dry places to camp it can be difficult to find safe shelter. With the low-lying land acting as a fog trap, visibility is almost non-existent. The swamp also releases gasses (methane) which are especially dangerous to fire mages. There are constant clouds of insects (flies, mosquitoes, and leeches) and the waters are filled with crocodiles and snakes.
