Norturum
The Norturum Mountains are a montain range on the northern tip of Tog Darahl. They are known for being a cold and unforgiving territory. Many have tried for centuries to take control of them and build settlements among them but most efforts have been for naught. The only civilization that has been able to survive there are the Fjellfolk also known as "Hill Dwarves". The roughness of the terrain suits the berserker tribes well.
From far away Norturum looks like a toothy maw sprouting from the hells themselves ready to swallow the heavens. The Fjellfolk believe that Norturum is where the Skosdrin sent Ioketill to live in exile. These mountains hold some of the only temples to the dread god that still exist today.
After several failed attempts at settlement the Darahlian Empire has given up the mountain range. This makes the Fjellfolk settlements in Norturum the only dwarven settlements that are not under the rule of the Emperor. Although the Empire controls the neighboring territories and keeps constant viligance.
The people of the Norturum mountains subsist primarily on hunting with some expiditions to the neighboring territories for trade. Most of the animals that live in the territory are tough to kill and very dangerous but the berserkers have mastered the art of hunting them. The Fjellfolk settlements are primarily buried into the mountains themselves and go deep below them.
There are several known Ferahedrite mines in the mountains that the Fjellfolk rely on for their economic relationship with the empire.
