The world of Esherath is much like our own. People all face the same wants, the same fears, the same challenges, the same desires. The only difference is that some of these people are skeletons.   There are shining paragons of justice and altruism who seek to make the world a better place. There are depraved monsters who seek the destruction and oppression of others simply because they can. Most however are only human (not literally)- their lives are governed not by questions of objective morality but by everyday influences. Survival. Love. Cold, hard cash.   Times change, and people must too. The insular kingdoms of ancient days have given way to an age of exploration and opportunity. Nowhere is this more prevalent than in the Western Reach region of the continent of Old Esherath. Here the old ways attempt to cling on to power against the tides of invention.
  • In Remas, the City of A Thousand Towers, what was once the seat of an ancient fallen empire now stands as a bastion of arts and invention. Warforged automatons mingle with artists and mercenaries in the crowded streets while airships crowd the skies overhead. There is a price to pay for innovation however, as both foreign powers and sinister underworld elements conspire to restore the Reman Imperium in their own image.
  • In the Tyriolic Confederacy, a loose alliance of independent city states and republics nestled in the crumbling ruins of the Reman Imperium's heartlands, merchants and pirates alike vie for control of the lucrative trade routes of the Azure Sea, whilst ancient secrets threaten the present. In the great mercantile Duchy of Catrano sinister elemental cults and a the tyrannical Lord-Regent threaten doom upon all the world whilst far to the west the half-elven shipwrights of Teir-Lyrandarth build an empire in the skies.
  • The Isle of Alrainia, once considered a backwater inhabited solely by mad dragon cultists and primitive halfling druids, has risen to prominence as the world's premier maritime power. Alrainian trading ships criss-cross the Ascalond Ocean bringing gold trade goods to all corners of the old world. However this glory might be short lived- envious foreign powers seek to overtake the Alrainian trading empire, the great pirate navies of the Stormwrack Isles plunder their cargoes and a sinister curse stalks the nations rulers, Clan Cuillin.
