Lord of Blades

Lord of Blades are agents of the king and one of the four pillars of the Realm entrusted with extraordinary authority by the High King, including the power of life and death over the inhabitants of the Realm. They are an elite group selected by the High King as one of his four pillars, and their primary responsibility is to preserve the realm's stability by whatever means necessary. Though they are generally considered as being above the law and have complete discretion as to the methods used to accomplish their mission, an individual's status as LoB's can be revoked by the High King in a case of gross misconduct. LoB's work either alone or in small groups according to the nature of a particular task and to their personal preference. “These Lords are not trained, but chosen. Individuals forged in the fire of service and battle—those whose actions elevate them above the rank and file.”

Benefits

Laws made and passed are illegitimate to the LoB and High Kings who appoint them are solely responsible to keeping them "in-line"

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The High King by any terms he finds as situational for he or the for the good of the realms can he expel or order death for the LoB

Once elected for every High Kings crowning, LoB have existed as the sole protector of the Realms, undefined by the law. With the death of former LoB, Dios Canne, High King Oran reformed the position as one of the main pillars of the realm in memorial.
