Blademaster Mehen Yarjerit
Mehen Yarjerit is a middle-aged red dragon born who carries himself with a stoic and straight to the point attitude. For years now he has been the leader of The Blades, earning the place through tournament as his predecessor had chosen to step down and retire. He is seen as one of the more serious guild leaders and does not tolerate disobedience or tomfoolery in his students. While not handling leadership duties, he can often be found in the training yard with a greataxe draped over his shoulder observing the lessons.
As the younger brother of Biri Yarjerit, who runs The Mages, there is a bit of a rivalry that exists between the two guild branches. Some question if this is because of the polar nature between the disciplines of The Blades and The Mages, while those who see them in more casual settings might recognize the roots of sibling rivalry.
Leader of The Blades
Mehen Yarjerit is the leader of The Blades in Riven. While his methods are largely seen as barbaric and archaic, the truth to the matter is that they are effective. He is strict and is not above injurying a student who is not following orders, as he sees it, members of The Blades are trained to be elite melee combatants and failure to follow commands could mean injury or death. His judgement does not leave permanent damage, but is enough to get the point across. If one cannot handle training under Mehen, they may be better off under a different guild branch or in another profession.
