The Weave

Magic, the ability to alter the fabric of reality by using special hand gestures, words, and materials. This fabric, called the Weave by experienced mages, is maintained by the various minor gods of magic but facilitated by the Lifegiver.
According to one mage, named Elisabeth MacMillan, the Weave is a finite resource and will eventually vanish. The loss of magic would have a devastating effect on the world.
