Pappy's Story

There once was a man by the name of Yacopo, he was one of the dragonborn before they sequestered themselves in the North. Yacopo had lovely silver scales that shined so bright those closest to him began to call him the Platinum Dragonborn. This caught the attention of the Justicemaker. You might know him as one of his other names: the Lord of the North Wind, the Justice Bringer, the Platinum Dragon.   Yacopo began to acquire a following. Wherever he went, news of his arrival preceeded him. It wasn't long before Yacopo was heralded as the mortal incarnation of the Father of Dragons. At first, Yacopo denyed such claims. But, he was fallible as all sentient beings are. He eventually came to believe these claims.   Yacopo's cult grew, as his reputation spread. After he began performing miracles, it spread like wildfire.   The Justice Bringer spoke to one of his priests, and demanded why this was happening. The priest answered: because my King, he thinks as many of your followers do; that you don't listen to us.   The Lord of the North Wind, angered by this told the priest that he would send his avatar to meet this, Yacopo and his followers in two days time. The priest carried the message to Yacopo, who had the priest killed for daring to blaspheme against him.   The two days passed, and the Platinum Dragon's draconian avatar descended from Mount Celestia where he even then made his home. He knew his priest had been killed, but hoped Yacopo would show desire to repent.   Confronted so, many of Yacopo's followers knelt before the god in worship. Many more stood behind Yacopo. Angered, the God of Law commanded Yacopo explain himself.   "You listen not to us, and care not for our needs. We pray to you, and receive nothing in return. What has following your teachings ever brought us besides pain and death across the generations whenever the world rises against us? I care about my people, and what happens to them. Daily I grant miracles, daily I raise the dead to life with their souls in tact. I would make a fair better deitya than you."   The Father of Dragons turned his head, to see those that clung to Yacopo clinging heavily to his every word. Some glared defiantly at him, others made rude gestures. Yacopo didn't know everything that the god did, and wouldn't be interested in listening.   "Do you all feel the same way?" he asked those. All were in agreement.   The Justicemaker used his potent Breath, smiting Yacopo and his followers. He then ripped free scales from his arm and fashioned them into armor, bestowing it on those that bowed.   "Let this stand as a testament to my affection for you," he said. "And though it might not seem like I hear you, know that I do."
