A Guide to the Lands and Cities of Errilor, and the Peoples that Inhabit Therein

The Guide to Errilor, as it is affectionately known, is perhaps the most widely spread book in the whole of Errilor. Written at the end of the Age of Dragons by the elven wanderer Ninirilad, it was clearly meant as a sort of memoir of his journeys across the face of the globe. Though it has some insightful points to be made, much of its content is now deemed apocryphal, or at the very least somewhat unresearched.   Whilst historians and scholars declaim these inaccuracies, the merchants and craftsmen are more than happy to welcome travellers who have used the book as their guide. Indeed, it has been noted that locations mentioned favourably in this tome receive a significant economic boon compared to similar regions.   It has also been extremely influential culturally, as peoples play more and more into the stereotypes presented in the guide, and expect the same of other tribes or nations they come across. One academic has blamed the guide on entrenching the ways and thoughts of the past whilst stinting further growth.   Despite all of this sales of the book only continue to grow, and its influence spreads further. It can only be hoped that the migrations it causes will fuel the forge of peace rather than the fires of war

Document Structure

Clauses

The book is composed of three volumes, concerning the Meridium Marum, the Meridia Terra and the Subcontinent of Sudland. Each of these volumes is broken down into parts based on nations, with each part split into chapters on locations, cities and natural phenomenon

Publication Status

Despite some attempts to censor the book, publishers continue to print or scribe the volumes, producing copies faster than they could be confiscated. It is now an accepted part of life and copies can be found in every literate nation, whilst a few of the illiterate ones keep copies for the detailed, if inaccurate, maps.
