House of Thorns
The House of Thorns is a building at Keswick Academy. The walls are made of chiseled stone with brambles growing around the exterior. Inside, there's an open courtyard surrounded by classrooms and laboratories. A large rose shrub sits at the center of the courtyard, honoring Sweet Villam. There are many windows on the second floor that allow light to enter the building, but they're all covered in vines and leaves.
The druids of Esder Forest built the House of Thorns to serve as a place of study for wizards interested in nature. It was used for many years by Keswick Academy as an herbalism center. Drusilla Rose, the last known professor to use the building, summoned the massive Thornwhip brambles that strangle the building today. Nobody knows much about what led to this, but Rose's last words to the outside world were to never come looking into the building. Nobody ever did, or at least didn't live to tell about it. The building has set undisturbed for fifty years.
Last week, though, the vines started growing again.
