Arrival Page 1
Those idiots in the Willow's Eye can't be bothered with real knowledge... To think they've sat on this treasure trove for so long and have not sought it out. What is Oriax's mission anyway? That blind obsession with containing the uncontainable, and yet here we stand in the presence of it in nearly all of its glory. This place takes much from it; it is thick but not thick enough to be overwhelming. It creeps and edges forward ever so slowly and yet has gone unnoticed in these deep and dense woods. Daneth was a cautious man, but his recent distractions in his second life have nearly let this place slip into something... dangerous. It matters not. I have brought my students, some of the brightest minds in the royal college, to explore this place.(edited)
Initial Findings Page 2
Whispers... never-ending and always taunting. It most certainly is here, and its... creatures stalk at every corner. The air here is thick; it is not like the void. It is the void. As much as could be found on our plane at any rate. Progress proves difficult. Every step forward has cost me time and several of my students. The Royal College has sent additional guards to Cendelius, where I retrieve them before sending them here. If that damn fool of an arch chancellor thinks he can steal the most significant find since the sacrifice... I digress. This place is a mix of the mortal plane and the void itself.
However, umbral magic and all other forms of magic seem to be diminished. Wards do not last, light does not last, anything not borne of the void is expelled or discouraged from remaining. I fear the creatures that stalk us are the remains of those who came before. Our first casualty cascaded into many others, even I was quickly surprised. We had prepared the body for burial, and after an hour of digging, those slugs of apprentices... children with no work ethic, the body quickly changed.
The magic of his adventuring gear and anything else that remained quickly faded. Almost immediately, it beset upon the other students. It was... a fascinating display. The other Dark One's hosts are usually alive or serve as a catalyst to bear the horror into this realm. This... Kro'zak... simply consumes the bond, the soul, everything... leaving a mindless husk in its wake. Our journey here has only brought more questions, but I'm confident I can make some use of the local manor as a better place to research.
That Damned Temple Page 3
Daneth... before he found true purpose, he was a cleric to the Creator. If I recall his journal, this place was built before the sacrifice. Interestingly, it would be dedicated to the Silver Maiden. It is not customary for her followers to show this kind of dedication. Could it actually be a temple to Him? No... he has made it very clear his position on our existence. In fact, one of my former idiot students offered himself to the Obliterator. "I accept your gift! Please, Al'Madoon, spare me from this nightmare!". His final words before that sweet sensation of destruction... A doppelganger of a god, masquerading as an Architect, but... his influence, the way he molds this space around us. Could he be a flaw in the universe itself?
A jealous son that seeks to destroy what his brothers have built? Perhaps so, but perhaps Kro'zak is merely just a child of a Vacuous, playing its silly games, biding its time... but to what end? He seeks our complete destruction, but yet he doesn't throw his might at us? To what end? It makes no sense... but that's precisely why WE will stay. My last remaining students will accompany me to the temple. We will find our answers there.
The wards etched into the floors are challenging to see in the temple, but in these catacombs... it is clear. We truly have found him. "Oblivion's Gate" written and empowered with Vacuous energy, an energy that is not so easily consumed and destroyed by him. There is no bond here; it cannot exist as his hunger would snuff out any life or power within his influence. The catacomb will be where we conduct most of our work. His voice is no longer our own there. It is dark and heavy. It nearly feels as though we are conversing with the Vacuous itself.
The Stones Page 4
The idiots... the miserable bloody idiots... I have exhausted my supply of help. "The college's finest in umbral research" It becomes increasingly clear why the umbral studies have all but been expunged. Harpel was a dead end, that eccentric ungrateful cur of a man and to think I offered him a spot at this table... this find. Soon I will need to hunt down Kro'zak's latest atrocity to shut him up for another couple of days. This familiarity is unsettling even for such an experienced Umbral scholar as myself... some peace would be a nice change even in this damned place.
Three stones to guard the path... not made, not empowered by the bond. Not tethered to this plane by the might of its god but instead empowered by that which has no bond. The Vacuous pact, a once in existence deal to keep the mad devourer chained between that which is and that which isn't. The Hand of Ma, grasping what once was the crystal of a Fallen Star. It symbolizes hope and the struggle beyond the stars, offering her prayers to the Parasite. The Tome of Oriax, an encyclopedia of knowledge into the Willow's Eye and its pursuit of knowledge. A collaboration of similar minds, the Willow's Eye and the Writhing Oculus. The Burden of Self, a mirror that shows the depths of one's true greatness, or lack thereof. A twisted and vain object befitting of a union between the Foremother and the Mind Spike. All three are now missing, and all three must be returned...
Revelations Page 5
I... I have paid the price for my hubris... I... I cannot continue... the wardstones must be returned... The Vacuous pact has been betrayed. They have taken the stones. He must not be freed... My notes... his journal... I pray they do not survive my final act. The only one to truly cross the threshold... at great cost to himself. He remains trapped, and he MUST remain trapped. Oblivion has come for us all.

However, an additional request was made before the stone can be obtained and one that cannot be filled by a military force of Luniwyn.
