Masterwork Armory
Masterwork items are extraordinarily well made mundane items. While more expensive to purchase or craft than their regular counterpart, the quality provides an added benefit.
Masterwork weapons, armor and shields are not magic items and can be purchased from the marketplace. An item cannot be both magical and masterwork as the magical properties overwrite the masterwork bonus.
When purchasing or crafting a masterwork version of a mundane item, you add the masterwork item's gold cost below with the original price of the non-masterwork item. Masterwork weapons can be silvered.
Example: A Cutlass costs 20 GP and a masterwork weapon costs 450 GP bringing the total to 470 GP.
Masterwork Weapons
Cost: 450 GPMasterwork weapons have a +1 bonus to damage. On a critical hit, the weapon's damage counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Ammo cannot be made masterwork, but weapons that use ammunition can.
Masterwork Light Armor
Cost: 350 GPMasterwork light armor feels as if it propels you forward. Gain 5 feet of movement speed. You can don or doff your armor in half the time.
Masterwork Medium Armor
Cost: 350 GPMasterwork medium armor increases the maximum Dexterity modifier by 1, allowing you to be more agile in combat. You can don or doff your armor in half the time.
Masterwork Heavy Armor
Cost: 350 GPMasterwork heavy armor reduces the maximum strength requirement by 1. You can don or doff your armor in half the time.
Masterwork Shield
Cost: 150 GPYou can quickly don or doff your shield as a bonus action.
Masterwork Spellcasting Focus
Cost: 250 GPMasterwork spellcasting focuses allow the spellcaster to ignore half cover when making a spell attack.
Add Gem Socket
Cost: 150 GPMasterwork weapons, light armor, medium armor, and heavy armor are so exceptional, they can be enhanced further with the addition of an open socket. This allows players to socket a magical gem, as discussed in the Living Erenel: Downtime's Gem section.
