Living Erenel: Downtime
Welcome to the Living Erenel Downtime article. In this article, we'll breakdown the fourth major pillar of Living Erenel's D&D/MMO experience, Downtime!
In Living Erenel, players are awarded Downtime Days each week during the Weekly Update live stream, with a Discord update included in the #weekly-update channel. These Downtime Days may be spent on various progression activities, acting as ways to earn or spend gold, driving Living Erenel’s player economy. As Living Erenel progresses with more players and themed seasons, additional Downtime Activities will be unlocked. Immediately following the Weekly Update, players will be able to sign up for Adventures and/or Spend Downtime Days. If a player attempts to sign up for an Adventure that week, they must spend Downtime as discussed in Living Erenel: Adventuring. Downtime Days expire one hour before the Weekly Update begins. If a player attempts to sign up for an Adventure but is not selected or the Adventure is full, they regain spent Downtime Days for not running an Adventure.
When spending Downtime Days, the Player will post in the #downtime Discord Channel. Once a moderator approves the Downtime with an emote, the Player may make adjustments to their character sheet. A moderator may ask you to roll dice with the Discord Bot before approval, depending upon your Downtime Activity.
A tool helps you do something you couldn’t otherwise do in downtime situations, such as crafting items, cooking food, or writing scrolls. Tools in Living Erenel have more uses and can be enhanced magically, similar to +1, +2, +3 weapons, and armor. When purchasing a magically enhanced tool, the tool will provide additional benefits and expanded options, dependant on the tool.
+1 ToolsA +1 tool is considered an uncommon magic item, priced at 1,000 GP. A minimum player level of 5 is required to craft at +1.
+2 ToolsA +2 tool is considered a rare magic item, priced at 2,500 GP. A minimum player level of 10 is required to craft at +2.
+3 ToolsA +3 tool is considered a very rare magic item, priced at 5,000 GP. A minimum player level of 15 is required to craft at +3.
Tool ProficiencyWhen performing the various Downtime Activities below, proficiency in the necessary tool is required.
Tool ExpertiseHaving expertise in a tool allows you to craft an item 3 levels higher than your current player level. Example: A 5th level character with expertise in Alchemist Supplies can now craft potions in the level 7th bracket. Example 2: A 7th character with expertise in Smith's Tools can now use +2 Smith Tools.
The following tools which are used in Living Erenel Downtime and can be enhanced magically are shown below. As Living Erenel progresses, more options will become available for magically enhanced tools.
