Eros

God of Romance

"He is both a wonderful blessing and a dreaded curse. A youthful god and an ancient primordial force. A cause for joy and a source of foolishness. Eros is the God of Reciprocated Love and Romance. I am thankful to be immune to his sway" ~Athena, Goddess of Tactics and Strategy.
Eros is the son of Aphrodite and Ares. Both of the Olympians are gods of passion, and this trait was passed on to their son. Where Ares is bloodlust and Aphrodite is sexual desire, Eros is romantic love. He may not be one of the twelve Olympians, but he is certainly quite powerful, and is capable of manipulating Zeus as if he were a puppet.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Eros has one goal: to make mortals fall in love with each other. He adores how mortals behave towards each other when in love, from courtship behaviour to nervousness when faced with the object of their affections. He believes that deep down all mortals want is to love and to be loved in return, and he aims to bring this about.
"Eros may be single minded, but he is rather creative and has a cunning side to him, and for that he has my respect." ~Hermes, God of Cunning, Protector of Travellers and Patron of Thieves.
Eros also does all that he can to meddle with loveless marriages, as he sees them as a disrespect to both him and Hera. He often accomplishes this by causing both spouses to either fall in love with each other or with others.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Eros takes the form of a youthful young man, with pale skin. He has glowing eyes, one red and the other orange. His hair is brown, long and slightly curly. Eros has two large wings on his back, which are a blend of yellow, orange and red in colour.
"My boy was born from beauty and strength, it is no wonder he is so gorgeous." ~Aphrodite, Goddess of Beauty and Lust.

Specialized Equipment

Eros carries a divine bow and arrows. His arrows can only be seen by mortals under certain magical effects and Gods. When a being is struck with an arrow, they fall madly in love with the first being they see. This affect can only be reversed by another god.

Personality Characteristics

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Eros is remarkably skilled with his bow, only surpassed by Artemis, Apollo and Helios. He could easily strike someone several kilometers away with one of his sacred arrows.   As the God of Love, Eros can be rather persuasive and charming. He can find a diplomatic solution to most issues he is a part of.

Likes & Dislikes

Eros absolutely loves romance in all its aspects, from the nervousness mortals feel when they are yet to confess their feelings, to the rush and excitement of a newly formed relationship, to the comfort and familiarity of a stable and domestic relationship.   Eros hates unrequited love and often tries to make these relationships less onesided. He will do anything from using his bow to make both fall in love, to causing situations that make the admirer look heroic.

Virtues & Personality perks

Eros is rather creative and clever, and often uses this to his advantage. He has made himself virtually unaccountable because he can sway Zeus with ease. He also regularly causes situations that will force mortals to confront their feelings.
"If you ever feel like you're in a stereotypical situation from a cheap romance novel, you can probably blame Eros." ~Hermes, God of Messengers, Patron of Commerce and Lord of Invention.

Vices & Personality flaws

Eros rarely thinks of the consequences of his actions and instead obsesses over the romance he causes, which he always finds adorable. Eros does not appear to ever get used to the love he causes, and always sees it as beautiful and heartwarming, no matter the occasion.

Social

Family Ties

Aphrodite absolutely adores Eros, as he is the only child of belonging to her and Ares that followed in her footsteps rather that their fathers. She can be overprotective, but it is very apparent that her love for him is genuine.   Ares and Eros have a loving relationship, even if they have little in common. Eros only condones violence when it is done righteously and in order to protect your loved ones, whereas Ares sees almost all wars as possessing a stark beauty.   Hermes has grown to respect and enjoy the company of Eros, as they both enjoy trickery and solving their problems with as little bloodshed as necessary. Both also involve themselves in the lives of mortals more than the other Gods do.   Eros has a strange relationship with his grandfather, Zeus. Eros is incredibly dangerous to Zeus, seeing as he has caused many of Zeus' affairs, and has questioned Zeus' authority numerous times.
