Believers of Tel-Amun

Excerpt from Egan Nassow's 'Curios of Shahar vol. II'   "Something incredible happened to me the other night. For posterity's sake, it was Cudos in the summer month of Armon in the year 702. I was roaming around the city of Ras-Amra and I had the inclination to get into a bit of trouble. You see, this is the very nature of adventuring, the very life-blood of the spirit of it all. The irresistible desire to go where one shouldn't or where others refuse, this is what it is all about. So I went poking my nose in the night-life of the city. This is an important tip for any of you aspiring adventurers. A cities business is rarely honest during the nighttime. For those of you reading this that have that same urge for adventure, go out at night–sneak out if you must–and experience the plethora of gritty souls that carry out their deeds under the cover of the moon, but I digress.   I went out one night and began asking about the town for those that sit on the edge of society. I wanted to find a group of people who exist just on the edge of being allowed to live amongst the rest of us. Overwhelmingly, I was pointed to a group of people who called themselves the Believers of Tel-Amun. Their congregation met once every week at night to give sermon. They spoke of Tel-Amun, a man that, according to them, had ascended into divinity. I was so intrigued by their belief that I stayed in the city for another month meeting with them. I had so many questions. Why did they meet at night? Were they outside of the law in their belief? They kept coming to me. With every answer they gave, new questions arose and I found myself entranced.   Maybe perhaps this Tel-Amun fellow followed in the footsteps of the Four Heroes of my homeland. Wouldn't that be just wonderful.   Year 702, Desmon, Efeldas 16

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The Believers of Tel-Amun celebrate King Amun's life as a man on his date of birth. They hold festivals on these days with trials for any young person to face. They are generally tests of endurance to honor King-Amun's never ending fight to expand Shahar.
