Dara

The region of Dara consisted of several Daran petty kingdoms. These Kingdoms were loosely organized into a confederacy. The Dara had long been the chief regional rivals to the various Bruchi tribes. They joined the early Vogelites in their wars against the Bruchi. Dara was brought into the Kingdom by the Dara Concord and the marriage of the Daran High Queen and the Adahite King. This was the catalyst of for the War of Two Queens. The Dara language, blood and culture is still strong in the land giving the provinces a unique flair. Daran food is largely sea food mixed with the fruits and dairy sauces. Due to the Dara Concord the province also has special status within the Kingdom. This includes the Archseat being considered a Royal seat. Although they serve the same function, the head of the branches of Dara are known as UnderKings and the heads of Daraforth and Chelon are given the particular title of ArchUnderKing. The province is one of the largest and most populated. It had been proposed to divide the province between the mainland and the Sarmanchan Islands, the the Daran Aristocrosy always fiercely opposes it.
Royal Seat Daraforth- Purple Zaratan (giant turtle) on half orange and turquoise. (Zaratan for the Daran People. Orange for the mainland and turqoise for the islands) Daraforth is situated on the mouth of the Higharch river, known as the Dara River to the people of Dara. The City was founded by Vogelite settlers as part of the agreement set our in the Concord of Dara.
Royal Seat Chelon- Purple zaratan on turquoise. Old capital of the Daran confederacy as well as center of Daran culture. As part of the Dara Concord, the capital was moved so as to solidify the new alliance. It still remain certain rights and privliges, such as ruler having the title of ArchUnderKing.
