Aquament

Aquament (or Mollen Sap, scientific name: Rheytho Mollen) is a viscous, honey-like fluid obtained from the seed capsules of the Honey Sapper or the].Approximately 5 percent of Aquament is made up of Analgesic opioids, with approximately 3 percent containing the Hallucinogen Dimethyltryptamine, which is processed by the Ageran people to produce potent painkillers, and hallucinogenic drugs for spiritual ceremonies. With the rise of sail, and overseas trade, Aquament based wines quickly became one of the world's foremost abused drugs. By the year 482, the drug has reached most regions of Varheld and Stormhold.   The traditional process to obtain the Aquament is lengthy and labour-intensive. The flower needed to be harvested by Ageran gatherers, which is often surrounded by large thorns with hallucinogenic poison that could cause visions in the victim for up to 12 hours, then the seeds need to be extracted and crushed into a powder and boiled in water with the petals of the plant. The Aquament thickens over the course of two days, and is then left to cool. More modern efforts in botany have encouraged the plant to grow with a significantly smaller thorn bush, the subspecies of the Honey Sapper is called the Florsilkesteri Pecudes. This makes the plant safer to harvest, and easier to store in greenhouses, making production of Aquament significantly faster. Due to the thriving level of piracy in the area when Aquament first reached the attention of the world, illegal growth and sale of the drug became extremely profitable. The flower quickly became seen as a symbol of crime and piracy, giving birth to the red flower flag (the flowers are more often yellow than red, but red dye was less expensive), used by many smugglers as a symbol of the trade. Despite its negative associations, Aquament is still vital to Ageran religious ceremonies who believe the visions are divine experiences.
