Silici, the Great City of the Empire

Summary

Capital and the centre of the Empire's power and trade. This is also the city of origin of the imperial family

History

Founded as a small village, it quickly grew in the fertile lands surrounding it in the delta area. Maintaining its independence, it became a city-state. As it continued, the village elder, became the city's ruler, and over time the position became hereditary. Silici grew wealthy from trade, with furs among other things coming from the north and spices among other things coming from the south. As the city's wealth grew, the ambitions of the rulers grew and they started to expand.

Geography

Situated in the delta of the X river, Silici is easily defended with its position against the sea and its land sides covered by the rivers that make up the delta. The city is littered with canals, leading the biggest source of transportation being boats and barges. Though this doesn't exclude carts and large roads. As you get closer to the harbour, the number of canals increases.
