Dictation Quill
Summary
Dictation Quills are Ter'Ahns which are used to help write things down. By simply dictating what you want to be written, the Quill will write it down on its own. It is most often seen in the possession of respected researchers and writers. Because of the intricacy of their construction, no Vik'Ahn versions of them are ever made as they would deteriorate far too fast for the effort.Mechanics & Inner Workings
The handwriting is based on the handwriting of the original creator of the Quill. At one time, one could change them to match one's own handwriting, but after the Cataclysm, doing this would cause them to degrade.
Should the engravings be damaged, the magic will seep out and cease to function.
Manufacturing process
Carve the required engravings into the material, preferably without damaging them for the best effect. Some of the engravings need to be on the nub should it be used. If it's made purely out of a feather, all of the engravings need to be up along the rachis (the stem of the feather).
Through a ritual, pour magical energy into the engravings and finally, activate the enchantment.
Significance
Generally, its significance is low as it's usually only an item of convenience. However, given its rarity and the fact that they can't be made anymore given its owner some modicum of status. It does however help those with reading and writing difficulties as it doesn't require any writing knowledge or skill to be used.
