A naming tradition common among succubi on Earth, utilizing the lucky number across the species, 15.

History

Although the exact history is unknown, the first known celebration was that of Lasi, a good friend of Umi and the first Goddess of the Sun. When La had her first child, she and the father had made the first variation of the tradition, where three guests cast five votes each from the names both parents and the new grandfather (mother's side) each chose. Then, the final name was chosen at a random selection. There are now many different variations, but the reason for this is unknown. The only real guess is that succubi are an indesicive species, and therefore need many options.

Execution

First, the invitations for Sela alo'p are sent out the day the child is born, 15 days before the ritual. After these fifteen days have passed, the visitors come (though numbers may vary, as long as total votes come out to 14 or 15, depending on which version you pick). The io (name choosers) must have already chosen their names anytime of 30 days before birth and the day of birth. After which the voters come and stay with thr child, getting a feel for how the child acts, and take this into account during voting. Once this have gone on for 45 minutes the voting commences. Depending on your version, either the most voted name is picked or you end up with 14 votes and you have a grandparent (mother's side) do the final vote. Either way the child's name has been pick and shall be set for life.

Components and tools

Even though it is not required, it is highly suggested/encouraged to bring a gift, in quantities of 15 of course. 5 symbolizes luck among succubi, and getting a gift in bulk like this means luck and prosperity shall come the child's way. After the naming ceremony has been completed, the feast begins. Again, decor may vary but most main dishes are the same ; stuffed souls (ui), leeches dipped in booze and smoked (kl'o), and for dessert, gin, bacon, and a cheesecake stuffed in a head (gho), to name a few.

Participants

The main participants are the parents and possibly a grandparent being the name choosers (though anybody who is the new parent's immediate family can vote), and the voters are a mixture of friends and a cousin or two, no siblings. If the new parent has a prestigous occupation, the boss and a coworker or three may also join the poll.

Observance

The tradition does not happen on any specific holiday, unless that is fifteen days after the child has been born. It is crucial to start the ceremony at the fifth hour and finish at the fifteenth, or it is thought to have cause bad luck.
