Beyond the Bone Dry Desert, past the enigmatic Sea of Clouds, lies a moody haven of rain and mist. Therein sleeps an untamed wilderness of sprawling alpine highlands, oppressive swamps and dire coasts.
Upon the massive river that splits the land in two lies
Starpine Refuge. Originally founded as a
Sequel camp, it burgeoned in size as it established a research center, a port, then later trade and industry. It's said that South Equestrian pine is second to none.
Meanwhile, researchers from all over Equestria take great interest in the mountains to the north. Scientists of weather, geology and magic alike share their findings at the
Skywatch, an observatorium for furthering studies of the mystery that is the Sea of Clouds.
With Starpine's interests in mind, it has been sanctioned as one of several established towns to become a welcoming haven for the Transients—the visitors from beyond this world.
Still does the town have much room to grow, and the wilds have much to explore. Will the pathfinders and entrepreneurs find foothold in these far reaches of Equestria, or will they struggle to stay alive so far from civilization?
Equestria is far from the only land to explore. Other continents share the seas, such as the beautifully frigid tundra of Rein or the ever-sparring kingdoms of Yakxia. It falls to you what sort of impression you will make should you visit the myriad foreign peoples—or are you perhaps an outlander yourself?
Exotic areas bring exotic opportunities. Treasure hunters, glory seekers and compelled researchers alike have plenty of reason to travel abroad to distant lands. Some are friendly, some forbidding, and some have even yet to be found...
