Session 37: Spawned From A Rift

We camped in one of the abandoned houses after having slain the many undead in the town. While Iza, Balta and I were resting around the fire we had lit in the house’s fireplace, we could here Fjaldt discussing something with his father Ayrbrn and Ailtu outside of the house. After the discussion Fjaldt did not re-enter the house and seemed to spend the night outside.
On the next day Fjaldt seemed not to have slept much as he seemed very tired. But we would not linger and decided to travel back to Catun. On our way to Finmore we stumbled upon a scene of mass destruction in the forest, where it seemed like a fire of sorts had suddenly burst out. After a rather fruitless investigation we continued onwards.
Though we were soon to meet a creature that seemed to have spawned from a rift, which had caused the previous destruction of the forest. The large creature was waiting a bit ahead on the road, so we left the carriage and horses behind and engaged the creature, which was a huge blue six-legged reptile of some kind. Iza threw a large fireball at it which it reacted badly to, even worse than how any other would normally react to a fireball. But it also got very angry and blasted us with a breath of pure ice and cold.
After fighting for a while we were looking and feeling rough, but so was the creature. So it decided to flee, and after a bit of restoration on our part we decided that we could not let it get away. But after following it for some time we had to accept that it had gotten away.
We went back to the cart and horses and continued towards Finmore, just to be stopped just an hour away by the most incompetent looking group of highwaymen ever…
