Session 36: A Not-So-Happy Reunion
After a small debate on what to do next we decided to go south with the dragonborn. I was quite happy about the decision, it sounded like the more fun option and the old guy really doesn’t look like he’d be safe on an adventure with only one companion. We arrived in Blackrock and were met by some mysterious figures. They didn’t identify themselves but said they were holding the old man’s friend captive and would exchange him for me. No idea what they would want from me, but I also wasn’t too eager to find out. I also briefly heard a voice inside my head, but at this point I’m kind of getting used to strange voices and visions, so I’m not too concerned about it. I do think this is all connected somehow, these strange people reminded me of those I had seen in the vision I had of Thodrin…
Since we couldn’t come to an agreement with them, they started attacking us. There was something quite unnatural about these people, in fact most of them didn’t seem like people at all. They were more like weird flesh puppets, they had no expression on their faces and didn’t seem to feel any pain. Eventually we killed all of them without too much difficulty. We searched the village for Ailtu’s friend and found him in one of the abandoned houses. And he turned out to be Fjarldt’s father! That was quite the surprise, especially to him. Seems like his dad left the family when Fjarldt was little and never told him where he went. I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit awkward travelling back to Catun after this family reunion…
