The God's Eye

The God's Eye was a religious Artifact in Iraj Hematti, the God King's personal treasury. It was stolen in a daring heist by the pirate Abas Silverring and the event marked the beginning if his infamy. When Abas was caught by the Alterian navy the artifact was nowhere to be found. It is rumored that he had the gem hidden away in one of the many caches around the world. With his death, and the death's of his crew the artifact's location has become one of Westreach's biggest mysteries.   The God's Eye was a magical orb about the size of a man's fist. It gave off a shimmering light with colors that changed with no apparent reason. When magic was cast near the eye it would sometimes react with its own magical effects. Sometimes this appeared by replicating the spell cast, while other times the orb counterspelled the magic nearby. Because of this connection with magic the orb was said to be the eye of the god of the arcane, the Old One.   This was not the only reason people believed the orb was the eye of a god. While he has made no comment on the stories, many bards claim that during the age of heroes the God King, Iraj, himself attempted to overthrow the Old One. This battle resulted in Iraj's defeat but he was able to survive the conflict and take one of the eyes of the Arcane God along with him. The story has spread throughout much of the western world and all artwork of the arcane gd now shows him missing an eye or wearing a magical replacement.
