WorldEmber Questions
1: If you have more than one world setting, which one is the most important to you right now? Why?
I only have one setting in development right now, and it is this one: Enveon. I will be developing it and not starting up any new one, however, as I intend on using it in a Starfinder campaign in the near-ish future.
2: Which area of that world setting will allow you to achieve your goals (Continuing your novel/campaign, or starting a new one?).
There is a megastructure out in the oceans of Enveon known as
Haven Alpha; it is, or was, a completely self-sufficient megacity able to survive in complete isolation from the rest of the world indefinitely. Specifically I intend on focus on the area surrounding a section of the city that has come to be known as
Intersection City. I'm going to be developing it further throughout the entirety of WorldEmber.
3: How will it help you achieve those goals?
I intend on using the area around Intersection City as the introduction point for my players' first foray into the world of Enveon, so I want to make sure I'm well prepared and able to inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity in my players.
Personal Goals
If I'm going to be using the area around Intersection City as the main focal point for the beginning of my campaign, I want to make sure it has plenty for the players to interact with. As a result, I think for WorldEmber I will be focusing on building up the
United Future Coalition (create more NPCs, important nearby settlements, the races it incorporates) and the minor factions that share the same general region as them, and I'd like to create a few locations that can be used as dungeons, such as
The Undermarket.
So to be more specific, I will make a small list:
- Create 2 major settlements in the region.
- Create 6 minor settlements in the region. (Don't need to be complex)
- Create at least 6 notable NPCs for the players to interact with. (Vandren Ithilen is a good example of this)
- Create 4 minor factions in the area. (Gorehawks are a good example of what I want to do for them)
Best of luck this Worldember! It sounds like you have a good idea of what you want to focus on.
Thanks! It's my first go at this sort of thing so I'm quite excited for it!
