Mo-o, Giant Salamanders

On an early expedition around 430PD, the first documented interaction with these creatures occurred. A group of travelers trekking through the forest of Galil is trying to research a few spottings of impossibly large reptiles scattered throughout a city near the forest. Upon their discovery, they spent several days monitoring their movement and behavior. Unfortunately, roughly a week into this project, they were devastatingly attacked. These giant reptiles made quick work of these adventures, leaving one survivor who returned with their notes and findings. They have remained a threat to travelers who pass through, but their presence is much greater known, and extensive research of their behavior and how to spot them has been documented. In the recent past, a select few across the continent of Cruyan have made it their passion to raise and domesticate these creatures. Raising the creatures has become a wealthy endeavor bringing in interest from military and roving explorers who want an edge in combat.

These giant lizards are indigenous to the swamps, rain forests, and caves of Cruyan. The massive reptiles vary in size, color, and ability and have since been scarcely domesticated to mount for combat and expeditions due to their innate ability to overcome difficult terrain. Mo-o can vary in length from 16 to 22 feet (about half of that being comprised of the tail). They typically weigh anywhere from 400 and up to 1000 lbs. Depending on the region in which you find them, they can be found with elusive camouflage toned scales and dwelling in deep caves, sometimes as far down as the Underdark, with dark scales coving the body. They are very tactical creatures and work best in pact scenarios, especially against larger creatures. They use their ability to climb walls and ceilings to traverse caves and climb cliffsides easily. They have the ability to leap up to 30 feet up and jump as high as 15ft with no running start but usually stay close to the ground where they are quicker and more agile.
