House Albrath

House Albrath was a mercantile house that hailed from the city of Caldera. Their trade involved the bulk dying of linens, laundry services and, for quite a hefty price, the discreet disposal of illicit goods, contraband and local exports from the city. Their base of operations was located in the Altarside neighborhood within the city's Temple District, very close to City Hall. While they maintained a congenial demeanor on the surface, they are determined and razor-focused in their business dealings and acquisitions, which includes a select few foreign assets. This influential family hold dominion over the local trade and communicates trade agreements with cities and towns outside of the Capitol. The family trade began just shy of a century ago by Embrit Albrath. The head of the house currently lies as Rue Albrath, the first born of Embrit. The family trademark is a symbol of an open hand holding a shiny gem. This family is known to be a very successful and competitive family with rumors of corruption and illegal smuggling but no solid evidence. House Albrath is one of three major houses within the limits of Caldera.

House Albrath runs as a conglomerate to the businesses of Caldera. Local Merchants and small family businesses come to the Albrath's as means of financial safety and for a jumpstart into the world of trade. The majority of business run in the local area are under their jurisdiction. Through an application process, they are known to be a rather responsive partner and help grow competitive businesses. Startups who find approval are either given a temporary fund to grow their trade and find success in their efforts. The other role Albrath's family play in helping these businesses is to give funds to fall back on. If the member of the conglomerate is failing, Albrath will support an underling for a few weeks to help give them time to return to high profitability or are removed if they become a liability. Although very competitive, members of the conglomerate dominate the local trade and going through the Albrath's allows for many merchants to become very successful with very little income. Members of the conglomerate, in return for the support from house Albrath, give a portion of their profits to the house.
