Amulet of Stabilization

Since the common practice of magic has become so pronounced, the natural medical field has become a much less necessary profession. Long-term medical care and recovery remain important and a staple for those drawn to helping others but the development of enchanted technology has become a helpful tool for excelling the healing process and ensuring the safety of medical patients. Healing practitioners without magical power to aid them typically make use of enchanted items when needed but still use their knowledge to make fast decisions in life-threatening situations. One technology that has been almost necessary for the medical field is a standby Amulet of Stabilization. Although weaker than other magical necklaces of similar properties, this amulet does not require attunement. Three times per day, these amulets can be placed upon an unconscious creature and their state of health remains stagnate allowing for an easy stabilization for someone who practices medicine. The death saves no longer have to be rolled but a creature's state with the amulet on does not worsen for up to an hour. When the amulet is placed upon an unconscious creature, all medical checks to determine how to stabilize the creature are made with an advantage. If they are proficient in medicine, they can take 10 minutes to stabilize the creature without any checks. The amulet cannot be used on the same person twice in one day. After each use, the user must roll a d20, on a 1, the amulet breaks and loses its magical properties. Most small towns and wealthy families keep one for an emergency but they are a difficult enchantment and cost usually around 500 GP. These are the most common magic item taken into battle and used in the military during life-threatening situations. Some enchanters make a living from making and selling these almost exclusively, typically taking around a month for even the most experienced enchanters.
