How Magic Works

Magic in Enon works as a natural force, one that's as real as the air we breathe. Its a force that can be manipulated by those who are talented enough and knowledgeable enough of how to manipulate magic. Generally, these scholars are part of the Arcane University, or The Keepers. But there are those who are born naturally with the ability to manipulate magic as well as those who make pacts with greater beings. In order to actually manipulate magic, practitioners use physical materials that the magic will consume to create the magical effect they desire, but as well require a conduit to focus their energy, called a Focus.

Arcane Magic

Arcane magic is the magic that is capable of creation as well as destruction. It has a physical effect on the world itself. The Arcane University teaches that to master the arcane, one must first master their internal emotions as the arcane magics of Enon are empowered by emotion.

Divine Magic

The most devout and well-practiced, and sometimes chosen, practitioners of the Divine act more like conduits and bridges for Ithlia and her Children's magic. This type of magic has a more ethereal presence in the world, shedding light, healing wounds, and summoning the power of Ithlia.

Natural Magic

The power of the land itself, natural magic is a skill that is secretive and chooses to instead hide away from those who seek it. Those who are granted use of this type of magic are highly regarded by the common folk because the land itself has given them its secrets.
