Weir
Weir was originally used by hexers to power their hexing, but has since evolved into the main power supply of the more advanced human civilizations.
The specific ingredients used to create weir are quite interchangeable with similar ingredients, but the over all quality of the weir produced is affected by the ingredients used as well as the processing of the ingredients. There is no visible indicator of the quality of the weir so you won't realize you've bought a bad batch of weir until it runs out of power long before you had estimated that it would.
Utility
Weir is basically a portable power supply like a battery, but they are made in a range of different sizes. A canister containing 5 L of weir of a good quality is enough to provide a family of five with indoor heating, warm water and heat for food making for 4 cycles (48 days).
Manufacturing
First you need water of course. Mix in materials that are rich in thurnid, petisid, cuaqnid, vellinid, muthrid and ledasid. These six compounds are semi-gaseous, and are soluble in both water and steam.
Distill the solution completely to purify the six compounds. If the distilled solution is over saturated you will see sediments at the bottom of the container.
Fill a new contain with wood chips. Once the solution has cooled, transfer some of the solution to the container containing wood.
Soak the wood chips untill the a completely soaked. Remove the wood chips and leave them to dry in the sun.
Spread sand in thin layers in a smokehouse. Make a fire using the dried wood chips in the smokehouse and smoke the sand.
Distill water to purify it and make a suspension with the purified water and the smoked sand.
Heat the suspension to just under boiling temperatures and let it cool. Transfer the suspension to a closed canister and you have now created weir.

Access & Availability
It is quite accessible for the middle and upper class in most larger cities in the more advanced human civilizations.
Complexity
It is quite complex procedure to create weir, but most large cities was some kind of weir production facility, where the citizens would buy their weir supplies.
