The Huntsmen Corps

The Huntsmen Corps were established by Colonel Altea as a personal guard as well as enforcers of his newly founded after the collapse of the Ramerian Empire.

Selection Process

In order to get a chance of joining the Huntsmen, soldiers have to perform admirably both in training and actual combat, displaying not only prowess but also a capability of working in a team and an aptitude for subterfuge.
Then, they will be given a number of tests without their knowledge in a bid to see how trustworthy and loyal they are.
The fact that such an elite force hand-picked from the best of the normal armed forces doesn't serve the Dukes but rather the head of the Ministry is ample proof of the vast power and influence he holds within the Grand Republic, even as he tries to deny this.

Tactics

While the Huntsmen are trained in classic frontline combat as well as all-purpose infiltration tasks, they have a special focus on the Mountains and Forests, a trait they share with the Forest Hunters of Protectorate of Beordan.
The Colonel used to lead this very detachment of the Ramerian army before his defection, getting a deep understanding of their ways and tactics. Ultimately, he was convinced by their capability to defeat far larger forces as long as defending in their favoured terrain, which Ramerian armies were notably unskilled in.
