Casteel Fortress

The Casteel Fortress was one of the largest defensive structures on the continent of Rameria itself, used by the Ramerian Empire to keep the Vailian Trade Lords in check. During the Independence Wars, this was one of the first targets that fell to Grand Vailia's ambitions, handing it to Colonel Altea as a personal possession, who quickly transformed it into the headquarters of his newly established .

Usage by the Ministry for Interior Security

The Fortress underwent a number of military upgrades under the new leadership, this time especially aimed at defending from attacks from the west, which was previously the Ramerian Heartland.
However, it has also taken on the secondary role of a courtroom - those who are considered too dangerous to be processed by the normal Vailian justice system, usually suspected terrorists and separatists are sent here instead. These courtroom hearings can not be visited by normal members of the public, and they happen under heavy guard, making escape almost impossible.
There are many complaints about this, however: due to the secretive nature of the trials, there are those who claim it is used as a way to silence political opponents and sentence them without a fair trial. This is heavily disputed, and thanks to the war-weariness that is still preeminent in the fledgling state of Grand Vailia, the people are willing to look the other way if it finally means peace and stability again.
