Reizinger
A nomadic culture of merchants, entertainers, and banker, the Reizingers are a key foundation in the success of the Engarland Empire. Originally compromised of roaming storytellers, actors, and musicians, they at some point began engaging in usury, postal services, money-changing, hawala, and similar banking services. Forming tightly knit groups known as bands or troupes, they roam the country in wagon trains, engaging in trade and entertainment services where ever they go.
The Reizingers have developed many traditions that tightly-knit their community together. All bands are bound under the maxim of "One Family", secret practices of hospitality to establish their legitimacy, and vicious public branding of those that betray their customs with a broken circle.
Reizingers live and die off their reputation of honesty, and have been noted to come down harshly on anyone who would besmirch or endanger their existence, internally or externnally.
Culture
Shared customary codes and values
The Riezingers have a few customs used to identify other members of their cultural groups. This includes a secret handshake and offering wine to a guest, which much be refused for water. Additionally, they wear red cords or place them on the handles of doors to denote places they own or are under their protection. Many bands are frequently inner-married, and their maxim of 'One Family' carries a great bit of truth, in how they practice their business.
