Duzuk Vines
Duzuk vines is mostly found in the Turicum region. Its vines are a dark red hue and rope-like. The leaves are large and oval shaped with a chaotic riot of colors with a vivid violet on the edges. The duzuk vines use tendrils that can extend from any node and attach to most surfaces. The duzuk prefer areas with large amounts of sunshine. During the summer months reddish-purple flowers bloom on the vines. The fragrance is similar to rosemary, but is is intoxicating to a wide variety of fauna, including humans.
The duzuk grows in large patches of up to 100 yards in diameter. These duzuk patches have the ability to slowly move across the rolling hills of Turicum . They also seem to move in the direction of human settlements within Turicum. When they encounter a copse of trees, they will slowly climb the trees while their roots embed themselves into the trunk of the tree and slowly devour it from the inside. During the summer when the flowers are in bloom, the duzuk vines' fragrance attracts unwary victims who are slowly covered and consumed while breathing in the fragrance. When this happens, the vines turn from a dark red hue to a bright red hue and the patch will stop wandering for days to finish its meal.
While a patch is in this state, it is safe to harvest the outer leaves of the patch. While digesting a meal, the intoxicating factor of the duzuk flowers are reduced. A mask to filter the fumes is still a necessary safety precaution. These leaves can be submerged in a cold water rinse then boiled to produce a highly nutritious meal, if you don't think too much about where the nutrients come from.
